  • Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Opening

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
    Lima Memorial Health System

The Synergy Organization is proud to have been retained by Lima Memorial Health System, an affiliate of ProMedica, to conduct a national search for their Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Lima Memorial Health System’s (LMHS’) mission and vision are to improve the quality of life in the Lima, Ohio and surrounding communities by providing comprehensive health services and quality care in a family atmosphere.  This mission extends well beyond the physical walls of their many facilities. Each year, LMHS gives back approximately $25 million in charity care, education, free screenings, and prevention programs to the 10-county region it serves.  In 1899, the people of Lima opened Lima Memorial to serve the community. That mission continues today.

LMHS continues to advance regional health care through the ongoing introduction of new programs, technology and services, coupled with an outstanding patient and family experience. This commitment to excellence is evidenced by the selection of LMHS as one of an elite few hospitals in the nation to earn Cycle IV accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the system’s NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) designation, commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and their recent recognition as a Bronze Award Recipient from the Baldrige Performance Excellence program.

The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will enjoy working with a collaborative, dynamic and talented leadership team and Board of Directors.  This leader will have the opportunity to be part of formulating the future course for the System and will provide strategic oversight to projects and goals aligned with the organization-wide vision. The VP and CFO will enjoy leading financial resources for the System in all areas of finance including reimbursement, budgets, patient accounting, and general accounting, and will evaluate data processing needs and changes to maintain the integrity of both accounting and system principles.  This new leader will also prepare financial reports and make presentations to governing boards and provide oversight of LMHS’ financial position in all areas of assets, liabilities, income, and expense, based on past, present, and planned future operations.

In this key leadership role, the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will also serve as a champion for LMHS and the community as well as a mentor, leader and trusted guide to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, the Finance Department and internal and external constituents of the system. The successful candidate will be adept at recognizing and acting on opportunities for growth, improvement and enhanced quality service in alignment with the goals, mission and values of the organization.

The successful candidate will bring exceptional communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, a passion for service to the community along with a Masters Degree and 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.  Significant, successful experience in the acute hospital environment is required, and candidates who also possess a Certified Public Accountant license are strongly encouraged to apply.

This exciting career opportunity offers a very competitive compensation package, a comprehensive benefits package, relocation assistance, excellent support from the System and all the resources necessary to succeed! For immediate consideration, please email your resume in confidence to careers@synergyorg.com Please include “VP-CFO” in the subject line. More

If you are interested in making a presentation, please submit a proposed topic, a brief summary and/or outline of the presentation, and your brief biography to our education team – Mary Ann Markowitz (maryann@mamrecruiting.com) and Jimmie Smith (Jimmie.Smith.HillsofLlano@gmail.com) by July 31st.  If you want to recommend a speaker or topic, please also send that information to our education team by the same date.

  • July Meeting Announced

Rancho Cucamonga, CA, June 22, 2018 – The IMA®  Inland Empire Chapter is proud to announce our July Technical Meeting. The next meeting will take place on Thursday July 19th, 2018.

This month we welcome Lisa Anderson, President, LMA Consulting Group, Inc. Lisa will be discussing “The Resurgence of Manufacturing and Distribution”

In today’s Amazonian marketplace, it is all about the customer experience. Rapid deliveries, 24/7 accessibility, constantly changing and unique customer expectations, easy returns and more! To keep your head above water, let alone surpass your competition, you must stand out from the competition with unique value. Executives struggle with how to innovate, accelerate and transform their organizations to achieve these customer expectations while maintaining – and improving – profitability and navigating the current skills gap.

Just think – how realistic is next day delivery with rapidly evolving expectations and customized products and services when taking a slow boat from China? In this interactive presentation, we’ll discuss how several key factors have converged to make this the opportune time for manufacturing and distribution. More radical yet, Southern California, and specifically the Inland Empire, looks like “the place to be”. Join us to learn more and prepare for this resurgence!

    Featured Presenter

Lisa Anderson is the founder and president of LMA Consulting Group Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in manufacturing strategy and end-to-end supply chain transformation that maximizes the customer experience and enables profitable, scalable, dramatic business growth.  Lisa has been named in the Top 46 most influential in Supply Chain by SAP, a Top 40 B2B Tech Influencer by Arketi Group and a Top 50 ERP Influencer by Washington-Frank. She recently published, I’ve Been Thinking, an inspiring collection of 101 strategies for creating bold customer promises and profits. She is a regular content contributor on topics including supply chain, ERP and SIOP and is regularly interviewed and quoted by publications such as Industry Week, tED magazine and the Wall Street Journal. The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is pleased to announce that Akron chapter IMA has won the Remington Rand Trophy (2nd Place Stevenson Division Banner) for the second year in a row.  The chapter also won the Bronze Medal for Public  Relations Competition and the Bronze Medal for Newsletter Competition during the 2017-2018 IMA year.  Chapter representatives will receive the awards during the association’s prestigious event, the 2018 Annual Conference & Exposition, on June 19 in Indianapolis IN.  Akron chapter’s #2 Finish (6,193 competition points) in the WORLD showed the chapter finishing only 99 points behind #1 chapter Hartford CN.  Akron chapter was led again this year by President Linda Garrison, GBS Team Leader in GCTSC Cash Management at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

IMA is one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession.  Each year, IMA recognizes the efforts of the association’s local chapters and councils through different types of recognition, commending outstanding programs in community service, communications and marketing, education and training, and membership development.  IMA’s competition is reported in two divisions: the 74 large-chapter Stevenson division (ranging in size from 114 member Las Vegas chapter to 2,088 member Dubai-UAE chapter) and 77 smaller-chapter Warner division (ranging in size from 24 member El Paso chapter to 120 member Des Moines chapter).  This outstanding #2 Finish is a rare event in the chapter’s 80-year history (the chapter finished #2 only three other times – 2016-17, 1977-78 and 1948-49 – and #1 only once – 1960-61).  The chapter’s 300 members (including non-competition students and retirees) all contributed to Akron chapter’s victory.  The membership includes 62 certified management accountants (CMAs) and 2 CSCAs (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis).
