The secret to becoming this lucky accountant is developing a serendipity mindset--that is, the mental toolkit needed to successfully navigate the serendipity process, which involves encountering, processing, and acting upon unsought information. 

In this presentation, Dr. Elena Klevsky – author of serendipity research published in Fraud Magazine and Issues in Accounting Education – will help you develop a serendipity mindset by teaching you what serendipity is, how it works, and best practices for increasing your serendipity. After learning the theory behind serendipity, you will have the opportunity to reflect upon your own successful and failed attempts to navigate the serendipity process and identify your areas for improvement. Ultimately, the purpose of this presentation is to help you develop a serendipity mindset that you can use to add value to your organization.
