February 16 (Joint Meeting of the Detroit Chapter & Michiana Chapter):  Leveraging Technology and Preventing Cyber Attacks is a Leadership Level Responsibility

Presented by: Mike Maddox, President and CEO of ASK & Josh Gembala, Manager of Enhanced Security at ASK

In this presentation, Mike and Josh reveals why cyber security is a leadership level responsibility and why it is not an IT burden. Far too often IT and cybersecurity are viewed as necessary evils – or just another expense. But when positioned as a strategic advantage to your business and adopted at a leadership level it can turn your business into a fierce driving force. He will also explain why basic security measures are no longer sufficient and how advanced security has evolved into an essential business necessity. With the majority of businesses adopting a work from home ecosystem, security has never been more top of mind for executives. IBM reports that it can take an average of 280 days to identify a data breach. More importantly, 95% of cyber breaches can be traced back to human error. So the question is … how do you know your data hasn’t already been compromised and what are doing about it?
